Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy raised serious apprehensions regarding the United States’ recent decisions to impose higher tariffs on Indian goods and increase H-1B visa fees, warning of potential economic fallout and strained bilateral ties. These remarks came during a key meeting at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat with a distinguished U.S. delegation, including prominent business leaders, think tank experts, and philanthropists focused on strengthening India-U.S. relations, investments, and policy dialogues. IT and Industries Minister Sri D. Sridhar Babu was also in attendance.

The Chief Minister underscored the invaluable contributions of the Telangana diaspora to America’s growth, noting that the H-1B fee hike could disrupt both economies and foster misunderstandings between the two nations. He expressed similar worries over sudden tariff escalations, emphasizing the need for collaborative approaches to mitigate adverse impacts. Reddy highlighted the state’s consistent policy framework across successive governments, which has fueled Hyderabad’s evolution into a global powerhouse, blending heritage with modernity.

Outlining the ambitious #TelanganaRising2047 vision, Reddy shared plans to transform the state into a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and $3 trillion by 2047. He positioned Hyderabad as a rival to cities like New York, Tokyo, and Seoul, with transformative projects such as the Regional Ring Road, Regional Ring Rail, manufacturing zones, Bharat Future City, a dedicated dry port, enhanced road and rail links to Andhra Pradesh’s seaports, Musi River rejuvenation, and Hyderabad Metro Rail expansion. The Musi project, he added, will unlock the night economy through riverfront development, leveraging the city’s cultural richness.

Reddy positioned Telangana as the premier destination for the ‘China+1’ strategy, inviting U.S. industry partners to support Bharat Future City and promising invitations to Fortune 500 companies. The delegation included Prof. Walter Russell Mead, Distinguished Fellow at the Hudson Institute and Wall Street Journal columnist; Mr. Mark Rosenblatt, Founder & CEO of Rationalwave Capital Partners; Mr. Harlan R. Crow, Chairman of Crow Holdings; Mr. Ravenel Curry, Founder and Co-CIO of Eagle Capital Management; and Mr. Henry Billingsley, Partner at Billingsley Company. Advisor to the Chief Minister (Public Affairs) Sri Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Secretary Sri K. Ramakrishna Rao, and other senior officials were present.

This engagement reinforces #IndiaUSRelations and #EconomicDiplomacy, highlighting Telangana’s investor-friendly ecosystem and collaborative spirit.
