In a late Night Communication, The Central Board of Direct Taxes has decided to further extend the due date for filing these ITRs for AY 2025-26 from 15th September, 2025 to 16th September, 2025. Accordingly a Press Release was issued on X.
The Release States that “The due date for filing of Income Tax Returns (ITRs) for AY 2025-26, originally due on 31st July 2025, was extended to 15th September 2025, Now Further Extended to 16th Sep 2025”
For the Past few Days. the Number of Taxpayers Filing the returns has increased and as per CBDT more than 50 Million IT Returns were filed by the Tax Payers. However some people faced issues regarding filing due to server side problems. CBDT’s fresh extension comes as a relief to many Tax Payers who were facing problems.
