Visakhapatnam Mayor Conducts Inspection of RK Beach, Addresses Cleanliness and Infrastructure Concerns

Visakhapatnam Mayor Shri Peela Srinivasa Rao conducted a thorough inspection of RK Beach, accompanied by officials from the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), to assess the cleanliness and maintenance of the iconic shoreline. During the inspection, the Mayor expressed significant dissatisfaction with the Electrical Engineering Department for its failure to install electric lights along the seashore, despite repeated directives. Highlighting the importance of proper lighting for safety and ambiance, he instructed GVMC officials to issue show-cause notices to the responsible staff and ensure immediate corrective measures. Adequate lighting is essential not only for enhancing the beach’s appeal but also for ensuring the safety of visitors during evening hours.

The Mayor also reviewed the ongoing sanitation initiatives at RK Beach, emphasizing the need for consistent cleaning and efficient waste management.
