India got re-elected in the Council of Administration of the Universal Postal Union for 2025-28

India has etched a remarkable chapter in international postal diplomacy by securing seats on the Universal Postal Union’s (UPU) Council of Administration (CA) and Postal Operations Council (POC) at the ongoing 28th Universal Postal Congress in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from September 8 to 19, 2025. This achievement, underscores New Delhi’s growing influence in shaping the global postal ecosystem, serving 192 member countries and facilitating seamless cross-border mail, parcels, and financial services.

The Postal Department on a Post on X Says “A proud milestone for India at the UPU Congress, Dubai 2025, as we join the Council of Administration and the Postal Operations Council. Guided by Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, Sabka Vishwas, India will help shape global postal policies, champion the voice of the Global South, and strengthen the journey towards a fair, inclusive and sustainable postal sector.”

India got re-elected in the Asia Pacific Group of Postal Operations Council and Council of Administration of the Universal Postal Union ( UPU) for 2025-28 in the elections held at the 28th UPU Congress in Dubai.
