PM Modi to inaugurate projects worth over ₹34,200 crore in Gujarat

On September 20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Gujarat for the ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ event, where he will launch and lay the groundwork for development initiatives valued at more than ₹34,200 crore.

Event Schedule and Key Locations

The day’s events will start in Bhavnagar at approximately 10:30 a.m., where the Prime Minister will speak at a public gathering. Following this, he will conduct an aerial survey of Dholera, an industrial city designed for sustainable development, and hold a review meeting at about 1:30 p.m. His visit will conclude at the National Maritime Heritage Complex (NHMC) in Lothal, a project aimed at preserving India’s rich maritime history.

Boost to Maritime and Infrastructure

The Prime Minister will inaugurate and initiate projects worth over ₹7,870 crore to promote maritime growth. These include:

• The new Mumbai International Cruise Terminal at Indira Dock.
• A new container terminal at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata.
• Modern facilities at Paradip Port, such as a container berth and new cargo handling systems.
• Development of the Tuna Tekra Multi-Cargo Terminal at Deendayal Port, Kandla.

Additional projects will focus on enhancing infrastructure at several ports, including improved road connectivity at Kamarajar Port in Ennore, coastal protection at Chennai Port, and the establishment of a multi-purpose cargo berth and a Green Bio-Methanol Plant at Deendayal Port.

Development in Gujarat

Beyond the maritime sector, Modi will also inaugurate and lay the foundation for projects in Gujarat worth over ₹26,354 crore, spanning various sectors such as energy, healthcare, highways, and urban transport.

Notable projects include:

• The HPLNG Regasification Terminal at Chhara Port.
• The 600 MW Green Shoe Initiative and a 475 MW solar feeder for farmers.
• The full solarization of Dhordo village.

In healthcare, expansions will be dedicated at Sir T. General Hospital in Bhavnagar and Guru Govind Sinh Government Hospital in Jamnagar. Additionally, work will begin on the four-laning of 70 kilometers of national highways. The visit will also include a review of the National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal, a ₹4,500 crore project.
