Disha Patani’s Family Home in Bareilly under attack

In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through Bollywood and beyond, unidentified assailants fired several rounds of gunshots outside the family home of actress Disha Patani in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, late on September 12, 2025, around 3:30 AM. The attack targeted the residence of Disha’s father, retired DSP Jagdish Singh Patani, located in the Civil Lines area under Kotwali police station limits. No one was injured, but the family, including Disha’s sister Khushboo Patani and their parents, was left terrified as they slept inside the house. This brazen act has prompted a high-level police investigation, with five special teams, including the Special Operations Group (SOG), formed to apprehend the culprits.

According to police reports, two men on a motorcycle approached the house, fired 8-10 rounds—some directly at the property and others aerial—and fled the scene within minutes. Jagdish Patani, who was an eyewitness, confirmed to ANI that the gunshots were from foreign-made weapons, adding to the gravity of the assault. “The family was panicked, but we are Sanatanis and respect sadhus and saints. If someone is misrepresenting statements, it’s a conspiracy,” he said, defending his daughter Khushboo amid the backdrop of the attack. Security has been beefed up around the house, and a formal FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Arms Act and attempt to murder

The incident appears linked to a controversy sparked in late July 2025, when Khushboo Patani, a retired Army Major, posted an Instagram story accusing katha vachak Aniruddh Acharya of misogynistic remarks against women. The post was initially misinterpreted as targeting Premanand Maharaj, leading to backlash from devotees. Khushboo later clarified in a video that her comments were solely directed at Aniruddh Acharya, but the damage was done. Gangster Rohit Godara, associated with the Goldy Brar gang, claimed responsibility via a viral social media post, warning the film industry against “defaming Hindu gods and gurus.”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally spoke to Jagdish Patani on September 15, promising swift justice and enhanced security for the family. “The government stands with the Patanis; no one will be spared,” Yogi stated.

Disha Patani, currently in New York for a Calvin Klein event, has not commented publicly yet, but her first post-incident appearance in a black gown went viral, drawing support from fans and celebrities. Khushboo reiterated her stance, emphasizing no intent to hurt sentiments. The attack has reignited debates on social media accountability and threats to public figures, with the UP Police monitoring online hate speech.
