The 23rd edition of Bharat Telecom 2025, a premier global buyer-seller meet organized by the Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC), was inaugurated today in New Delhi alongside the India Mobile Congress (IMC). The event showcased India’s burgeoning telecom ecosystem, drawing over 70 delegates from more than 30 countries and featuring cutting-edge products from over 60 Indian telecom companies at the Atmanirbhar Bharat Pavilion.
In his inaugural address, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Communications, Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, highlighted India’s remarkable transformation from a mere assembly hub to a global leader in telecom design, development, and innovation. “India is no longer just assembling products; it is now recognized for its innovation and manufacturing prowess,” he stated, emphasizing the country’s emergence as a trusted partner in global technology. He credited initiatives like the National Digital Communications Policy and the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for attracting significant investments, boosting local manufacturing, and enhancing export capabilities.
Dr. Pemmasani underscored the event’s role as a platform for fostering global partnerships, stating, “Bharat Telecom 2025 brings together Indian and international companies to exchange ideas and forge collaborations in manufacturing, software development, and service delivery.” He highlighted opportunities in satellite communications, rural connectivity, and AI-driven solutions for governance, agriculture, and education, particularly for developing nations, reaffirming India’s commitment to innovation-led growth and global cooperation.
Shri Ashok Kumar Jain, Deputy Director General of the Department of Telecommunications, echoed this sentiment, noting, “India’s telecom sector is undergoing a profound shift, evolving into a hub for design and technology exports. This transformation reflects our dedication to building a competitive and sustainable ecosystem.” He emphasized the government’s focus on fostering international collaborations to drive inclusive growth and position India as a global telecom leader.
TEPC Vice Chairman Shri Sanjeev Kumar highlighted the impact of policies like the PLI Scheme in strengthening domestic manufacturing and easing business operations. “These measures create an environment where both Indian and global players can thrive, contributing to a connected world economy,” he said, pointing to emerging opportunities in satellite communications and AI applications.
In his concluding remarks, Shri Sanjeev Aggarwal, Past Chairman of TEPC, emphasized India’s legacy of partnership with nations across Asia and Africa, built on transparency and mutual benefit. “Communication drives progress, and through collaboration, we can achieve shared prosperity and technological advancement,” he said, urging delegates to explore deeper business ties with India.
Bharat Telecom 2025 concluded with a strong commitment to nurturing global partnerships, boosting innovation-driven exports, and cementing India’s position as a powerhouse in the international telecom landscape.
