Visakhapatnam, October 6, 2025 – The Visakhapatnam City Police is hosting a special Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) session on Monday, October 6, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM at the Police Conference Hall, Armed Reserve Office, Visakhapatnam City Police. This initiative, known as “ప్రజా ఫిర్యాదుల పరిష్కార వేదిక” in Telugu, aims to provide a direct platform for citizens to voice their concerns and seek prompt resolutions, aligning with Andhra Pradesh’s broader public grievance mechanisms.

The PGRS is a citizen-centric program designed to bridge the gap between the public and law enforcement, allowing individuals to register complaints related to policing, safety, and civic issues. Similar events have been successfully conducted across the state, including district-level sessions at collectorates and municipal offices, where hundreds of grievances are addressed on the spot. In Visakhapatnam, this session follows the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation’s (GVMC) establishment of a dedicated PGRS help desk at its main office, operational every working day to upload and track complaints via the state government’s online portal.

Organized under the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS), the PGRS integrates with the Chief Minister’s Grievance Redressal System (CMGRS), enabling quick escalation and resolution. Past events in Visakhapatnam, such as those in zonal offices and the collectorate, have handled complaints ranging from revenue and police matters to municipal services, with over 200 representations received in a single day in some instances. The police emphasize transparency, urging residents to bring valid IDs and detailed grievance descriptions for efficient processing.

This event comes amid the state’s expanded PGRS framework, now reaching mandal, divisional, and municipal levels since the TDP-led NDA government’s initiatives. Citizens are encouraged to participate actively, as the program not only resolves immediate issues but also contributes to data-driven policy improvements. For more details, contact the Visakhapatnam City Police or visit the official PGRS portal at pgrs.ap.gov.in.

The session reinforces the commitment to responsive governance, ensuring public voices are heard and acted upon swiftly.
