Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will travel to Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura on September 22, 2025, to launch several transformative initiatives. In Arunachal Pradesh, he will lay the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹5,100 crore in Itanagar and address a public gathering. Later, in Tripura, he will offer prayers at the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple and inaugurate enhancements to the temple complex in Matabari.

To tap into the region’s immense hydroelectric potential and advance sustainable energy, the Prime Minister will initiate two key hydropower projects valued at over ₹3,700 crore in Itanagar. The Heo Hydro Electric Project (240 MW) and Tato-I Hydro Electric Project (186 MW), located in the Siyom sub-basin, will boost clean energy production.
Additionally, he will lay the foundation for a modern Convention Center in Tawang, situated at an elevation of over 9,820 feet. This state-of-the-art facility, designed to host over 1,500 delegates, will cater to global conferences, cultural events, and exhibitions, enhancing tourism and showcasing Arunachal’s cultural heritage.
The Prime Minister will also launch infrastructure projects worth over ₹1,290 crore, spanning sectors like transportation, healthcare, fire safety, and accommodations for working women. These initiatives aim to drive economic growth, improve living standards, and strengthen regional connectivity.
To promote ease of doing business and nurture entrepreneurship, PM Modi will engage with local taxpayers, traders, and industry leaders to discuss the benefits of recent GST rate rationalization measures.
PM in Tripura
Demonstrating his commitment to preserving India’s spiritual and cultural legacy, the Prime Minister will inaugurate development works at the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple Complex in Matabari, under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) scheme. Located in Udaipur, Gomati district, this temple is one of the 51 revered Shakti Peethas.
The project, designed with a tortoise-shaped aerial view, includes upgrades like renovated temple premises, new pathways, improved entrances and fencing, a drainage system, and a three-story complex featuring stalls, a meditation hall, guest rooms, and administrative offices. These enhancements are expected to boost tourism, create jobs, and foster socio-economic growth in the region.
